Is Dlamini being pushed out of Gunners?

Extension Gunners' marketing and communications' manager Kitso Dlamini is not a happy man. Reports say that he plans to quit after accusations that he embezzled funds.

It is alleged that Dlamini connived with some people to improperly use the funds raised for the club through the sale of merchandise. He told Mmegi Sport yesterday that the allegations are serious and has dented his reputation and that of his family. An emotional Dlamini said: "I'm aware of who is going around spreading these malicious rumours and the bad thing is that some people are believing the reports. The truth of the matter is that I've never been involved in the selling of the merchandise though I was involved in the negotiations. The different supporters' branches are the ones, which are selling all our products, and not on any given day have I laid my hands on the money raised. I've been involved with Gunners for a long time and I can't fiddle with their funds because I know the club is struggling".

He added that if the supporters do not understand anything, they must come forward and get the right information. He said that it is disturbing for people to think that he can use Gunners for his own benefit. "I've fought hard to ensure that things are run smoothly in this team and it is surprising that people would think that I'm benefiting in any way. Those who are spreading these rumours are frustrated people who want to come in because the team is doing well. Whenever an organisation is doing well, a lot of people want to come in to have their own share and this is what is happening at Gunners," he said.
