It will start from 1930hours until late and tickets are sold at P200 per person including refreshments.

The gig is a charitable event that is supported by telecommunications company Mascom to raise funds for the less privileged members of society.

This year Mascom doubled its sponsorship from P100,000 to P200,000 and has been sponsoring this event since 2007.

On the concert’s lineup are the mind-blowing and brilliant live band The Metrophones, Botswana Music Union nominated polka dancing Reharko Polka Dance Group, acclaimed contemporary dance group Sky Blue Dance Hub, internationally celebrated Mogwana Traditional Song and Dance, break dancers Stereotypes Society, My Star 2012 winner Sharon and funnyman Umbambi Ndiwenyu aka Bambino will be the hosts.

In an interview with Showbiz, Lemmenyane said that, “This is going to be a thrilling edition with never seen before collaborations and a once off breathtaking set design and awesome lighting”.

He further said that people could expect to see current performances and contemporary dance infused polka with a twist.

According to Lemmenyane, the directors and producers of the concert have created a fresh and exciting experience, which will never be repeated.

The performers are combined to extend their repertoire and to explore new collaborative ideas.  “People should look forward to seeing magic on the stage during the concert,” noted Lemmenyane.

The President’s Concert has over the years managed to attract hundreds of audience members as well as having a large television viewership.

Ian Khama has always attended the concert and hopefully this year he will grace it again.

Members of the diplomatic missions and top executives from the corporate world in Botswana are among those who never miss the show.  The public in general has always been supportive too and the entire audience is treated as VIP with refreshments served after witnessing breathtaking moments on stage.

Local produce and by-products by Wild Fruits Company based in Gabane such as Morula nuggets and Morula juice will be served on the night.

Although the concert will be filled with fun, it is in the end for a good cause. This year Sekolo Sa Anne Stine, Centre for Children with Disabilities in Molepolole will be the beneficiary of the concert’s proceeds.

The centre provides therapy and education for children with disabilities.  Sekolo sa Anne Stine offers stimulation classes for 31 children who come to develop skills in speech and communication, and rehabilitation, which should ultimately lead to independence.

The centre is facing financial challenges that limit its ability to function optimally.

In the past organisations such as Stepping Stones International, Ray of Hope Foundation and Diphalana Counselling Centre also benefited from the President’s Concert.

This concert is a way that Maitisong does its part to ensure that Botswana’s vision of ‘A Compassionate, Just and Caring Nation’ by 2016 is made into a reality.

Tickets are available at Maitisong, Riverwalk kiosk and Spar outlets.
