After that not much was heard of on Nono, especially of her music career the entire year.

This year, she has released a promising album, and also she seems to have her life back on track.  She attributes this turn around to the power of God, adding that she never loses hope even when facing challenges.

“It is through God who made everything possible.

“I prayed to God to give me strength and He did exactly that,” she said, adding that she has forgiven her now former boyfriend, although the case is still before the courts.

During Nono’s hard times, other artists staged a music concert at the Millennium Restaurant to raise funds to assist her.   She has since moved to her family home in Broadhurst where she is reviving her music career.

Nono has forgotten about everything and is now focusing on her music career.  Her latest album, which is also her third is titled, Rantshekgwane.  The album is composed of six songs, including the title track.

Other tracks on the album include Bo Rre, Borokgwe Jwa Irau, I Believe, Ga Go Na Efe, and Ntshupe.   The lyrics in all

the tracks are in Setswana except for I Believe.

In the title track, Rantshekgwane, Nono who confesses that she does not have a ‘horse’ in the love race, sings about an irresponsible man.  However, she is appealing that like everyone in life, he should be given a chance.

So far Nono is happy with how her newly released album is doing.  She said there has been an overwhelming response to the album.  “I am really happy about it.  I thank Batswana for their support,” she said.

She said she will launch the album in the first week of December during a show that will predominately feature Afro-jazz artists.

Despite being a new release, Nono’s album has been nominated for the ‘Best Jazz Album’ in the upcoming Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) awards.

In the meantime, Nono said she has been staging shows, including corporate gigs.

Nono’s first album Kgarebe, which announced her arrival on the music scene, was released in 2007.    The second album Tlhala Nna, which was released in 2010, followed it.   This year, Nono worked on a collaborative album titled Bomme with another Afro-jazz songbird, Punah Gabasiane.
