BeMOBILE has assigned its infrastructure expansion project to Swedish multinational, Ericsson, in a deal estimated to be worth 9.4 million Euros (P110.5 million). The project is meant to expand beMOBILE’s network coverage.

Paul Taylor, chief executive officer of beMOBILE parent company, Botswana Telecommunications Corporations Limited (BTCL) said he was upbeat the subsidiary is on track to eventually be the market leader in the provision of not only the widest coverage, but the clearest.

The project is expected to be complete before the end of the year. BTC believes the project has the potential to boost be MOBILE’s subscriber base, which is currently estimated to be slightly over 400,000.
