Botswana has set a target of 10 gold medals at the Ryushin-Kan International Karate championships that take place in Cape Town, South Africa on Thursday and Friday this week. The country has sent about 40 karatekas to the tournament and the team manager, Tumisang Sefularo said their target is to bag 10 gold medals in individual kata, individual kumite and team kumite.

He said that karate is not all about competing but learning and some of the team members would be going into the competition for exposure.

Sefularo said they want to avoid putting pressure on the karatekas who will be making their debut at the competition.
