Ramogababane appeals 20 years imprisonment

LOBATSE: Prison inmate, Phatsimo Ramogababane, was told on Friday to wait until end of July to know whether the Court of Appeal will reduce his 20 years imprisonment term for killing his girlfriend in 2005.

Ramogababane was given a 20-year jail term for murdering his girlfriend Malebogo Selebo in Mogoditshane in November 2005. Ramogagabane is appealing the sentence on the grounds that it is too harsh and induces a sense of shock and hopelessness in him.

He also argued that the trial court failed to take into account certain mitigating factors. The appellant argued that the sentence should be reduced to a region of 15 to 17 years as well as take into consideration his circumstances.
