Sport stars and duds of 2014

For me, there were some individuals who stood head and shoulders above the rest and really did well for Botswana. Among the shining lights were athlete Nijel Amos, administrator Tuelo Serufho and the Africa Youth Games TeamBotswana. There are a few other names and organisations I could mention as having stood out, but these we’re my main achievers.
One of Botswana’s shining lights in 2014 has been 400metre runner Amos. His explosive season was capped with a nomination for the IAAF athlete of the year. This showed that he is indeed a force to reckon with in his discipline. He has continued to break records and his star continues to shine. Despite the reports that he has derailed, he has kept his eyes on the ball, and one can only hope that he keeps on the straight and narrow. With great man management, he will go places. He has done wonders for the country, and put Botswana on the world map.
The recent disclosure by the IEC that 2,513 registrations have been turned down due to various irregularities should prompt all Batswana to meticulously review the voters' rolls and address concerns about rejected registrations.The disparities flagged by the IEC are troubling and emphasise the significance of rigorous voter registration processes.Out of the rejected registrations, 29 individuals were disqualified due to non-existent Omang...
