Women's soccer team face DRC

The women's football team takes on Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Sunday in Gaborone in the opening match of the qualifiers of CAF Championships.

The finals of the tournament will be held in South Africa in September. Botswana coach, Gaoletlhoo Nkutlwisang told Mmegi Sport that her team's preparations have gone well and she is confident of victory.  She said the players are looking forward to the Sunday game though they do not know anything about their opponents. She believes that if they had had a chance to watch DRC, they would have prepared better.

Nkutlwisang said as part of their preparations, they played the boys' national Under-17 team as well as a University of Botswana (UB) select side. The women team comprises mostly Under-20 players who were recently involved in a number of international assignments.
