Women's rugby side wins first silverware

FRANCISTOWN: The women's national rugby side lifted its first silverware over the weekend when it won the Plate final at the Blue Bulls Sevens tournament held in Pretoria, South Africa.

Assistant coach, Batshabeng Keopetswe who was in charge of the team, guided the side to a 24-0 defeat of Tuks University in the final. Keopetswe said eight teams took part in the competition.

The teams were divided into two pools. Botswana was in Pool B with Blue Bulls, Tuks University and Namibia Rio Panda.
