Top ECCO goalkeepers head out

FRANCISTOWN: Former national champions, ECCO City Greens, are on the verge of losing their first choice goalkeeper, Michael Onkutlule to cross-town rivals, TAFIC. Mamojadiskie have already released their reserve goalkeeper, Itumeleng Selapa whose contract expired at the end of June. ECCO spokesperson, Unabatsho Mathalaza said they will raid the market in order to find replacements.

"We are busy negotiating with some goalkeepers at the moment though, at this stage, I cannot reveal their names," Mathalaza said.  He added that ECCO has been aware of TAFIC's interest in Onkutlule although the club has not been formally approached. The goalkeeper was part of the ECCO side that won the league title four seasons ago.

Mathalaza said they are keen to retain the player although it is possible that he might join TAFIC during the current transfer window which closes on August 6. TAFIC spokesperson, Thomas Chabalala said the club was not in a position to release the names of the players it has signed.
