The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Shaw Kgathi is expected to retain Daniel Tau as Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) chairperson next Friday. BNSC holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday where Tau is expected to be given another mandate by the minister.

However, some executive committee positions will be up for grabs at the AGM. So far, vice-chairperson, Nomsa Mbere, treasurer, Boitshoko Tsiane and additional member, Sesupo Mosweu are unopposed. BNSC spokesperson, Chris Nkwe said the meeting would have different presentations from committee members.

He explained that before the AGM, the council will run a quiz for eight schools, from primary to senior secondary in Francistown, to test children's knowledge of sports. "We want to show the Francistown people that we are not only going there for the AGM, but that they are part of us," Nkwe said. As part of its social responsibility, the council will donate to a yet to be identified charity organisation.
