Former Botswana Premier League (BPL) general manager, Phuthego Setete has been lined-up to replace departing chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi, whose contract was terminated last week.

Although the Botswana Football Association (BFA) could not confirm the development, Mmegi Sport is reliably informed that Setete would assume the position of BPL general manager, reporting to the mother body’s chief executive officer (CEO), Ookeditse Malesu.

The new arrangement would mean the post of BPL CEO is abolished and instead, replaced by the position of a general manager, a structure which existed before Mamelodi’s arrival in 2013.
