Rising golf player, Walter Seokemong is targeting a place at the World Cup of Amateurs after his win at the Puma Energy Jwaneng Open last weekend. The Selebi-Phikwe born player said he wants to work hard in order to play in the World Cup for Amateurs in Japan in October.

He stands a chance to be selected to play in Japan based on his weekend triumph. The Jwaneng Open was used as a qualifier for the recently introduced Windhoek Lager Africa Jacket Golf Championship to be held in Namibia later this month.

Seokemong admits it was tough at the Jwaneng Open where he faced stiff competition. In a career spanning more than a decade, the player has won three Orapa Club Championships and the Orapa Closed, which he bagged in February.
