Ruthless BDF XI reach softball finals

Southern Region men softball champions, BDF IX were ruthless on Saturday when booking a berth in the finals of the Vivo Energy National Championships set for next month. The army side dismissed Carats 5-0, beat UB Giants 7-2 before thumping Raptures 13-1 on their way to qualifying for the finals as Bracket A winners in Selebi-Phikwe. After the loss to BDF IX, UB Giants went on to win two games to qualify as runners up. They beat Raptures 6-4 in a closely contested tie.

In Bracket B, Rail Giants won two games to sail through to the finals. They beat Scramblers 3-1 and Wells 2-0 to advance.

Defending national champions, Scramblers beat Vikings 3-0 and looks likely to come up against BDF IX in the finals. The Top Eight was hosted in Selebi-Phikwe with the finals set for the capital Gaborone next month.
