Township Rollers moved to within a point of Mochudi Centre Chiefs after smashing the log leaders’ unbeaten run with a 1-0 defeat in an absorbing encounter on Saturday. The defending champions’ win trimmed Chiefs advantage at the top to just one point.

Chiefs was unbeaten going into the encounter but Jerome Louis cracked home the winner after only four minutes to see Rollers stay second and critically shave their rivals’ lead. The encounter, played at a blistering pace saw Chiefs fluff a number of chances with Tendai Nyumasi’s first half penalty beaten away by goalkeeper, Mwampule Masule.

There was overwhelming evidence on the pitch that the two sides were set for another close fight for honours.
