Rollers, Chiefs to play English side

England's Championship side, Bristol City are set to tour Botswana around July in one of the rare moments in Botswana football.

They will be in the country for two weeks and will compete in a three-team tournament that also includes local giants, Township Rollers and Mochudi Centre Chiefs. According to international media reports, City owner, Steve Lansdown is the driving force behind the pre-season tour to Botswana.

While the likes of Bloemfontein Celtic and Platinum Stars (formerly Silver Stars) once came into the country for pre-season friendly, the coming of City is seen as ground breaking. The tour is expected to open new opportunities for the two local clubs as well as their players. Recently, Township Rollers are said to have reached an understanding for a working relations with another English side, Bolton Wonderers.
