Psychological boost for chess women

The manager of the All African Games (AAG) chess team, Boitumelo Keinyatse has said that they have introduced psychology sessions to make players regain their poise after the heavy defeats at the inaugural World Women's Team Championships (WWTC) in Russia. "We have not hired a psychologist but we have been having in-house sessions to make the players believe in themselves again," he revealed. At the WWTC, Botswana played nine matches and lost all of them by 4-0 scores.

However, Keinyatse says that the current Botswana team to the AAG in Algiers, Algeria is ready for battle after a training camp at the Botswana National Sports Council Athletes Village. Botswana will only send a female chess team to the AAG. The team is currently being drilled by FIDE Master Phemelo Khetho and Providence Oatlhotse.

Keinyatse told Mmegi Sport that they have been working around the clock to see to it that come next week in Algiers, the team delivers.
