Poor organisation bedevil women football

It was evident that poor organisation is still a problem as the women football league kicked-off over the weekend.

The players showed enthusiasm and skill but the lack of basic things like corner flags spoiled the party. The game between Rollers and Real Touch at CFC grounds on Sunday proved that a lot still needs to be done for women soccer to develop. There was only one referee with Chibuku cartons used as 'corner flags'. The clubs had no first aid kits.

Rollers beat Real Touch 1-0 in the dull match. However, the score was not to be a true reflection of the game as Real Touch showed more class and maturity over the newly established Rollers. Real Touch finished bottom in the league last season but it has improved a lot though they missed good scoring opportunities. Rollers could have scored many goals but poor combination thwarted their efforts. Rollers' striker Kebatshotse Mokgelele gave Real Touch defence a tough time cruising through easily, only to miss the opportunity she created.
