Police IX snatch dramatic win

Police IX recorded a dramatic 8-7 win over Panthers after a last gasp run by Otsile Moshabi in a Shell Softball Women's League match at the UB Diamond on Saturday.

The police outfit trailed Panthers until the decisive fifth inning when the unheralded Sheila Karabo came from the bench to inspire them to victory. Panthers had earlier forfeited the top one inning because they could not make the first nine at the scheduled kick-off time.

Police IX seemed to take advantage when they scored a run early in the inning through Matshega Bosa after a three-base hit by Charity Isaacs. But when it was Panthers' turn to bat, they cancelled out Police lead and scored a further two runs in the top two inning off a three-base hit by Leave Miriam. Lindah Sethebe, Ame Mokereetang and Charity Orateng scored the three successive runs. They led 3-1 at the end of the top two inning.
