SELEBI-PHIKWE: The national junior tennis championship will be held in Selebi-Phikwe for the first time over the Easter holidays. So far, the tournament has been held only in Gaborone and Francistown.

The organiser of the tournament, Wellington Sibanda told Mmegi Sport that Selebi-Phikwe Tennis Club will be the venue for the action that kicks-off on Friday to Monday.

He said the tournament is important because it is used by Botswana Tennis Association (BTA) for national rankings. He pointed out that hosting the tournament is an opportunity for Selebi-Phikwe players to use home ground advantage to win. Sibanda said his players have always been doing well in BTA tournaments held outside Selebi-Phikwe though they are haunted by lack of sponsorship.
