Phikwe bags AON bowls championship

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Phikwe Bowling Club continued its dominance of the AON Botswana Bowls Tournament that was held at Makhubu over the weekend as they won it for the third time in a row.

The club first won the tournament in 2011, then 2012 and they managed to defend it again this year. Another record holder is Oabona Motladiile who became the only man to have won three of the four editions of the annual event.

Motladiile won the 2011 edition with Dicks and Nelly Senna and repeated the feat with Craig Humphreys and Nelly Senna last year. Phikwe A team comprised Motladiile (playing as a skip), Troy Davids (playing the third position), Khumo Kebalatetse (playing the second position) and Lesego Motladiile (playing as lead).  The team walked away with the first prize of P5, 000 after accumulating 55 points from seven rounds of the multi-disciplinary bowling tournament.
