Palapye United Vows To Stay Put

PALAPYE: It took Palapye United nearly three decades to gain promotion from the Second Division to the First Division.

After such a long struggle, the club has said it has no intention of relegating though the going has been tough in the First Division. Club president and sponsor, Germanus Stoneham admits that it has been a rude welcome but they will survive the rigours of playing in the First Division.

"It tough out there," Stoneham said at his office at Caltex Filling Station in Palapye. He complained about the distance his players have to travel to play because it is expensive.
