Action between Notwane and Rivals, GU on Saturday

After surviving the dreaded axe last season, Notwane have started the new season on a high , thrashing Gaborone United (GU) 3-2 in a Premier League match played at UB Stadium on Saturday.

Notwane made their intentions known as early as the first half. Kgomari Mothuba netted the opener in the 10th minute from a corner kick. The goal brought confidence in Notwane camp and they looked dangerous going forward. Few minutes later Notwane nearly doubled the lead, but Emmanuel Machinya attempt narrowly missed the target.

The midfielder ‘s 13th minuteeffort was rewarded though. GU defence looked disjointed and were given a hard time by Notwane attackers. They failed to make any threatening moves forward with the absence of Ronald Chikomo clearly visible.
