Masomere joins Notwane

Notwane have hired former Gaborone United (GU) coach Luke Masomere to succeed Ghanaian Ernest Kofi who was dismissed last week.

The Zimbabwean coach started his new job late last week. He will work with assistant coaches, Fabian Zulu and Chris Rabalago. The nomadic Masomere joins Notwane at a time when the team is beginning to get results after failing to register a win in 12 successive matches. Kofi led the club to three consecutive victories in the league against Jwaneng Comets, TAFIC and BMC before he was shown the door.

"Masomere is the new coach at Notwane and he actually conducted training sessions on Friday," Zulu told Mmegi Sport. Masomere who once coached Nico United gained respect through his exploits with GU four seasons ago. He is the man who recruited GU skipper Sageby Sandaka who has continued to do well for the defending league champions.
Under his tutelage, the Money Machine played entertaining soccer although they failed to win any silverware. He left the club under a cloud.
