Christmas came early for Kutlwano women volleyball team which pocketed P100,000 for winning the league. Kutlwano emerged the Mascom Volleyball League champs on Saturday after they beat Mafolololo 3-1 in a decider at the Molepolole Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) Multi-Purpose Hall. When the two volleyball giants meet, sparks to fly and the weekend duel was no exception.

The robust warm-up before was enough signal that a mini-war is looming. The see-saw battle in the first set, narrowly won by Kutlwano indicated that it was going to be a tight contest.

The second set was like a replay of the first, but buoyed by their 1-0 lead, Kutlwano seemed to be having the edge. At one point there was a 24-24 stalemate but Kutlwano managed to overpower their opponents, 26-24 to extend their lead.
