Mabapa could, however, not reveal when the privatisation deal will be effected.  “Our attorneys and the investor have effected the deal and we are now awaiting transfer of funds to the team’s trust account,” Mabapa said. Meanwhile, inside sources said a faction opposed to the club’s privatisation has emerged. Sources revealed that the faction is allegedly made up of previous committee members and it is said to be teaming up to present a rival P3 million sponsorship.

 “The recent resignations have much to do with joining the sponsorship camp than what had been suggested earlier on. There are some people who go around spreading the message that the privatisation project is a flop. They were spotted in Gaborone West recently briefing some Gunners supporters, claiming the deal was hollow,” said the source. Mabapa however dismissed the assertions.
