GU, TAFIC wrangle over striker

FRANCISTOWN: TAFIC and Gaborone United (GU) are locked in a dispute over the services of free scoring Tendai Nyamadzawo. GU say they have recruited the player from relegated TAFIC, but the Francistown side is refusing to release his registration book.

“It is true we have signed the player. But the unfortunate thing is that TAFIC is giving us a hard time to get the player’s registration book,” said GU secretary, Hebert Letsebe. TAFIC relegated at the end of last season and Nyamadzawo who is reportedly not prepared to go to the lower division with them approached GU to recruit him. It is said TAFIC gave the lanky striker a clearance letter and he signed a two-year contract with GU but his registration book has not been released.

TAFIC insist on GU paying P3,500 as transfer fees. Letsebe said GU have approached the Botswana Premier League to intervene.
