FRANCISTOWN: First Division sides will have to soldier on without sponsorship as the league's committee struggles to find a financial backer.

Since MedRescue severed ties with the First Division three seasons back, there has been no sponsor.First Division North chairperson, Eatametse Olopeng said they are struggling to find a sponsor. He said the absence of a sponsor has sapped the morale of players, clubs and officials. "We are still looking for sponsorship. We are aware that the absence of a sponsor affects the morale of the teams. We have decided to recruit a consultant to look for sponsorship on our behalf," Olopeng said.

He said there are widespread rumours that clubs want to boycott fixtures until a sponsor is found. But he was quick to add that the clubs had not approached them about the issue.
