Dejection as Amos finishes last

Hopes of winning a third gold medal at the Commonwealth Games were crushed as favorite, Nijel Amos finished a disappointing eighth in the 800m finals yesterday.

Up against a not so intimidating field, Amos began brightly as he paced ahead as early the first 400m.

He however, appeared rattled when Kenyan, Wycliffe Kinyamal started his sprint early just before the last bend.
