Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) president, Tshenolo Maruatona does not have interest of seeking another term when the federation holds an elective congress in May. Maruatona has been at the helm for six years, but when delegates meet in Maun on May 27, he will not seek re-election.

He told Mmegi Sport yesterday that he felt it was time to call it a day as he has done his part and someone has to take over.

“I have run my race and it is time somebody takes the button. The main focus is the development of chess and players in the country. My plan is to focus on other things,” he said.
