Chess, Botho College announce P120, 000 partnership

Local chess and Botho College, which brought world chess champion Viswanathan Anand to Botswana, are set to announce a three year partnership tomorrow at Botho College.

The partnership, set to run until 2016 is said to be worth P120, 000 and is part of both Botho College's silver jubilee celebrations in Botswana and the Botswana Chess federation's 30th anniversary.  Grace Muzila the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education will be the guest speaker.

Through the partnership, Botho College will sponsor Senior Schools team Chess Champs, where the winners of both boys and girls teams will walk away with computers as first prize. The tournament is set to be held on August 11-12 and over 40 schools are expected to participate.
