Brand Botswana boosts local riders

Two local teams, Teamscoot and Full Taps Botswana received a major boost ahead of the 1000 Desert Race when they got sponsorship from Brand Botswana this week.

The sponsorship entails fuelling and general service of bikes and cars, fitting new tyres, paying registration fees and provision of refreshments during the grueling two-day race that takes place this Saturday and Sunday. Scoot and Full Taps are some of the local teams that Batswana will be pinning their hopes on when the annual race gets underway on Saturday.

“This sponsorship is a celebration of Botswana’s impressive record in hosting this premier event that has contributed greatly to our tourism sector and overall international image. Getting behind that wheel is no small feat so we have the utmost respect for our drivers for being brave. We trust the rest of Batswana will join us in cheering them on and welcoming them as they cross the finish line,” Brand Botswana executive director, Esther Norris said yesterday.
