Following his triumph at the Kazakhstan Rally a fortnight ago, Ross Branch has taken a five-point lead in the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship standings. The Monster Energy Yamaha Rally team biker won his first ever Cross-Country World Championship title in Kazakhstan early this month.

The win in the opening round of the championship has taken Branch to the top of the standings with 25 points.

 In second place is Matthias Walkner of Hungary with 20 points while in third place sits Branch’s Yamaha teammate, Adrien Van Beveren with 16 points. Australian, Daniel Sanders and Andrew Short of the US complete the top five with 13 and 11 points respectively.
