The merger between the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) and the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) appears to be far from being realised. While the BNSC chief executive officer (CEO), Tuelo Serufho said there were talks behind doors, BNOC president, Botsang Tshenyego maintained there was nothing on the table.

Serufho had painted a positive picture and said the roles and responsibilities of the BNSC and BNOC clearly need to be rationalised. “There has been work going on behind the scenes and we will soon divulge to the public the course we want to pursue.

What is key is that Botswana sport and Batswana have to be winners at the end of the day,” Serufho said. But Tshenyego dismissed the report, saying there are no merger talks.
