The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has suspended referee, Letsogile Seroke for making what it deemed 'political' statements on social media.
The mother body recently warned its members to desist from making disparaging comments about the association.
In the suspension letter, written by referees manager, Phodiso Rasetsoga, the match official is accused of posting his political opinions on football matters on social media.
"This serves to inform you that you have been suspended from officiating any Botswana Football Association affiliated matches. This decision is taken after a thorough inspection of your opinions posted on social media. We totally discourage individuals from airing out their political opinions in football matters, especially match officials. Thus, the need to suspend you from refereeing activities," Rasetsoga said.
