Bears get first win

Bears women bounced back to winning ways when they thumped BDF IX 9-3 in an exciting Shell Southern Region Softball League match at the UB Diamond on Saturday. Prior to the game, Bears had not won in the second round.

They put up a five star performance to beat the army side emphatically. With superb teamwork and focus, Bears did well to strike out the top three batters of BDF and prevent them from gaining a single base. Against the second batter, their pitcher did a great change-up, which wowed the small crowd that watched the game.

However, both sides were determined not to let up and the inning ended 0-0.After having a feel of the opponent, Bears pushed even harder in the bottom two innings. They had a first breakthrough, which kept BDF on their toes when they had four consecutive runs. Melitah Seabelo, Gopolang Matsila, Nnau Seikano and Tumisang Gabantese got them the runs.
