BCA postpones national cricket tournament

The national 50 overs cricket tournament, which was supposed to start at the end of this month has been postponed to July because of delays in securing a sponsor and problems associated with playing long games in June.

Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) fixtures and publicity secretary, Sumod Damodar, has told Mmegi Sport that they are still negotiating with sponsors and they decided to push the tournament to next month because playing 50 over games in June is not wise because the month has shorter days.

“We have not yet finalised with the sponsors and we are trying to get a sponsor for all the teams from both regions,” he explained.
