14 year-old female boxer, Katlego Olatotse stole the limelight when she beat her much older opponent, Tshepang Moilwa 22-17 in a women's division Mooka Boxing National Championships qualifying tournament bout at Glenn Valley in Gaborone, Saturday.

The bout was the teenager's fourth since starting boxing earlier this year and spectators sang praises of the youngster's abilities after the fight.

Her club coach, Bond Ngubula of One-two-five, said: "She played to the basics; I didn't expect her to throw an uppercut because I have not taught her that. She followed instructions and it worked out pretty well." Olatotse started off on a restrained note in the opening round, scrabbling a lot as she seemed to take on her opponent's style of play. In fact, the two female pugilists looked to throw away boxing basics, often displaying 'girl street fighting flairs' in the early stages of the game.
