Youth Participation In SRHR Policy Planning Vital

CAPE TOWN: Youth in the SADC region have been urged to lead the fight against restrictive laws, social norms, policies and misconceptions that make it impossible to access and discuss services associated with Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) as well as Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).

The call was made by Nthabiseng Mogashoa of Siyakwazi Youth Network, a South African-based advocacy group devoted to SRHR and CSE initiatives. She was speaking at the launch of ‘Because We Can’ campaign organised by International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) in collaboration with Partners for Sexua Health (PSH) here on Thursday.

The event attracted journalists, representatives from civil societies and government officials from eight SADC countries.
