You have the right to strike, minister tells workers'

"There are instances where union leaders misinform workers that to strike is illegal, which is not true.  I therefore urge you to learn and know your rights so that no one can exploit you or abuse your rights," he told mining workers in Francistown this week. The minister was hard put to explain where he got information that 25 Batswana are understudying expatriates at Moolman Company. He was confronted by employees of the company when he addressed them at a consultative meeting attended by workers from Tati Nickel and Muphane Mines. Early this year, Matlhabaphiri gave the figure in Parliament after answering a question from Francistown South legislator Khumongwana Maoto.
