Woman murdered in Jwaneng

Jwaneng police are investigating a possible crime of passion after the body of a woman was found in the early hours of Thursday morning in the mining towns Unit 13 neighbourhood.

A neighbour who heard the deceased screaming at approximately 4am said the woman was aged 30 years or less.
The neighbour, who spoke to Mmegi on conditions of anonymity, said they stepped outside on hearing the screaming but retired to sleep when they did not see anything.However, they found a corpse in front of the woman’s house after daybreak. The neighbour said the woman’s mother and eight-year-old daughter were in a state of shock.

It is suspected that the woman is a victim of a crime of passion. The suspect is yet to be arrested.The Commander of Jwaneng Police Station, Meshack Dambuza, said he could not talk to the press because he had not yet informed the Commissioner of Police.
