FRANCISTOWN: It was bound to happen. Beneath the widely reported altercation between Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) stalwarts, Francistown West MP, Ignatius Moswaane and Francistown South branch chairperson, Ford Moiteela on Tuesday, lies a low-key political brouhaha for the control of the latter constituency.

At the centre of the dispute, Mmegi has learnt, are three emerging axis eyeinga BDP win for Francistown South constituency in the 2019 general elections.

It has come to the fore that the Phillip Matante East by-election is a natural stage for the BDP’s competing factions to penetrate the constituency and position themselves ahead of the general elections.
