We're still BDP, vow 7 SES councillors

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) South East South (SES) councillors have distanced themselves from their Member of Parliament (MP) Odirile Motlhale's defection from the party. The youthful MP defected to the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) on Wednesday.

Of the eight BDP councillors in the constituency, Boiki Gaseitsiwe of Ramotswa Central has also joined the BMD. In a letter to the media, the remaining seven BDP councillors said they remain committed and loyal BDP members.

They have sworn to "continue to promote and uphold the programmes and policies of this...party, in this constituency in particular and Botswana at large.
