WDC Members Plead For Salaries

FRANCISTOWN: Leaders of Ward Development Committees (WDCs) here recently pleaded with the Parliamentary portfolio committee on local governance and social welfare to be given monthly salaries rather than the P320 pittance they get as sitting allowances.

During a comments and questions session, Somerset-Extension WDC chairperson, Reverend Phillip Butale pleaded for WDCs to be salaried arguing that the P320 allowance they get does not tally with the duties they perform.
