Warrant of Arrest For Pregnant Dagga Trader

KANYE: Principal Magistrate Abigail Masawi has issued a warrant of arrest for a 22-year-old pregnant Lesego Monageng of Sedudu ward in Moshupa.

Lesego, her mother and two siblings were arrested in October 2012 for cultivating dagga in their backyard. The prosecution informed court that Lesego was on the run and hiding from the police while one of her brothers was writing form three examinations. During the last mention, Lesego, her mother Mary Monageng and one of her brothers, Basimane Monageng, were absent. A warrant of arrest was issued against them.

Lesego’s elder brother, Thuso Monageng, attended the last mention and told the court that his mother did not have bus fare to travel from Moshupa to Kanye to appear for mention.Magistrate Masawi ordered that Lesego be hunted and arrested. She also ordered that all the accused person’s should appear for mention on December 15.
