The small village of Rasesa in the outskirts of Mochudi was on Saturday invaded by masses of Umbrella Democratic Change (UDC) followers and indeed those of the ruling Botswana Democratic Change (BDP).

Even though the occasion was to launch the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) council candidate Tshenolo Buisanyang, clad in royal blue, yellow, orange and lime, followers found it as a moment to celebrate unity. Following months of speculation and talk, the UDC and BCP on Friday announced that they would in 2019 contest as the UDC.

The members who are convinced that they now have the numbers to unseat the BDP could not wait any longer as they invaded the press briefing in numbers at the Oasis Motel on Friday where the new partnership was revealed.
