Township Rollers Football Club on Saturday announced the death of their no.1 fan, Sam Rakgowa, best remembered for playing Tshuku, the mascot for the Africa Youth Games.

According to the club’s announcement Rakgowa suffered from prolonged respiratory illness and was under treatment at a private hospital in South Africa.

As the Africa Youth Games Mascot, Rakgowa missed the grand finale and was replaced by an alternative amidst talk that he suffocated. The games organisers revealed that Rakgowa had not disclosed his respiratory condition.
