Tembo Lebang: An Illustrious Man Fit For Accolades

The outgoing Executive Director of the Botswana National Productivity Centre (BNPC), Tembo Lebang, has been described as a true leader who has brought changes to the labour market of Botswana.

Among speakers at his farewell dinner on Thursday evening were the Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Lesego Motsumi, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Botswana, Professor Bojosi Otlhogile, and the permanent secretary in the Office of the President, Mothusi Palai.

Motsumi spoke in praise of Lebang's "footprints" on improving productivity, saying they were necessary because of the low level of productivity that remained "a big challenge" in Botswana. "The importance of the issue of productivity in the creation of the wealth of nations is well established," she said. "It is also a significant component of the competitiveness of economies.
