Tawana remains mum on defection reports

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Maun West MP, Tawana Moremi has refused to say whether he will defect to the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) despite reports that he will decamp this weekend.

The legislator has been invited to a BMD rally in Maun over the weekend. "I am going to consult my wife today so that we can decide whether to go or not to the BMD rally. But as you know I am a BDP MP," he said yesterday in Gaborone.

Meanwhile three Northwest District councillors have defected to the BMD. One of the councillors is Pelokgale Monyame of Kubung in Tawana's constituency. Alan Sokwe of Tsau and Lekopanye Ledimo of Kareng are from Ngami constituency.
