Social workers complain against political abuse

They told Assistant Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Dr Gloria Somolekae that in the run-up to general elections, the number of people registered as destitute and orphans rise but after the polls they are directed to reduce the figures.
They said they want to be used on issues of social development and not just in meeting material needs of people. Speaking during their annual general meeting in Kang over the weekend, they said that giving away donations is not part of their mandate or training and this should be done by procurement and supplies' officers.
